Why hair gets damaged
Damage is cumulative: chemical services, heat styling, mechanical stress (rough brushing, towel-drying, hair ties), and environmental exposure (hard water, UV, pollution) all chip away at the cuticle and break disulphide bonds inside the cortex.
Once enough bonds are broken, hair feels gummy when wet, snaps when dry, and looks dull regardless of product. The signature signs: mid-shaft breakage, "fluffy" ends, sudden loss of curl pattern.
London adds two specific aggravators: hard water (especially north of the river) and high-frequency colour services.
